THE SCR1 TRANSFORMED INTO A ROLLING LAB

On-track testing of the SCR1 Prototype #1

Co-founders Brian Bourne and Joel Fallaise began the on-track testing of the SCR1 Prototype #1. With all the computers and cables in the cockpit, the SCR1 looked like a rolling laboratory. The  Scalar Performance Development Team gathered important data from these first high-speed lapping sessions.  This is another milestone in the development of this all-electric race car. Pictured, co-founder Brian Bourne lapping at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP).

Scalar Performance Development Team also had the opportunity to observe the SCR1 against other race cars for the first time during a high-performance lapping event at Atlanta Motorsports Park. Co-founder Joel Fallaise (pictured) tested the SCR1 in a non-official racing environment while driving with other race cars during that lapping event.

EV SPECIALIST RANDY POBST TESTS THE SCR1 ON TRACK AT ATLANTA MOTORSPORTS PARK

Scalar Performance was very happy to host well-respected EV specialist and race car driver, Randy Pobst, at its US headquarters, Atlanta Motorsports Park.  This full day of on-track testing which saw track conditions change from full wet to dry with Randy behind the wheel of the SCR1, allowed for valuable feedback and balancing improvements to be made to the SCR1 in our quest to reach the best driving experience possible.

Without a doubt, the SCR1 made a great first impression on Randy based on his overall comments. The behind-the-scenes video of that day is available on our YouTube channel.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF ENGINEERS

Students from the Ontario Tech Racing Club, based out of the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science at Ontario Tech University, came to observe the SCR1 testing on track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park during the month of May. This Ontario Tech University activity was used to inspire the next generation of engineers and provide students a hands-on learning experience with an actual all-electric race car engineered for motorsport. The students participating in the Formula SAE competition have to design, budget, and build a Formula-style electric race car.

RCLUB PRIVATE TRACK DAY AT CTMP

RCLUB Track Day

In May, RCLUB hosted a track day on the Driver Development Track (DDT) at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. RCLUB members were not seeing double, when in fact the Scalar Performance Team brought both the GR86 ICE car and its all-electric SCR1 prototype to the private track day. The Scalar GR86 ICE model is the car which has inspired the development of the all-electric SCR1.

SCALAR AT LUCKY DOG RACING CANADA

Scalar Performance Team participated in its first Lucky Dog Racing Canada event of the season at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The Scalar Team competed in this grassroots endurance racing series with its Toyota GR86 ICE car. After countless hours developing the all-electric SCR1 race car, this team building activity was a fun day at the race track for all the Scalar Performance Team.

SCR1 TO MAKE RACING DEBUT AT HYPERFEST

Hyperfest 2023

After months of research and development on the SCR1, the world’s first all-electric amateur touring race car, the Scalar Performance Team is ready to participate in its first National Auto Sport Association (NASA) sanctioned race during HyperFest's 3-day weekend hosted at Virginia International Raceway, from Friday May 19th through Sunday May 21st.

Official Scalar Performance Race Car Driver, Alana Carter, will be racing all weekend behind the wheel of the SCR1 all-electric prototype. As part of the SCR1 development process, we are now ready to put the SCR1 to the test in real racing conditions. This is another important milestone in our journey to developing an all-electric amateur touring race car.
