NASA RACING DEBUT AT HYPERFEST

The weekend of May 19, the team at Scalar Performance made their very first NASA racing debut at HyperFest, hosted by Virginia International Raceway, with both the all-electric SCR1 and the more traditional GR86 race car we fondly call the "Gas GRrrr". The weekend kicked off with a test and tune session, followed by a qualifying session and sprint race featuring the SCR1, as well as HFGT inaugural race with the Gas GRrrr. The primary objective of the event was to assess and enhance the performance of the SCR1 electric prototype race car. The team collected an extensive amount of data throughout the weekend, enabling the identification of the necessary improvements and modifications required for the car before returning to Toronto.

Undoubtedly, the Scalar Performance SCR1 all-electric touring race car was turning heads all weekend. It was truly gratifying to witness the overwhelmingly positive responses and feedback, particularly from fellow racing enthusiasts who displayed a genuine curiosity. Both the all-electric SCR1 and the GR86 ICE car were showcased side by side in the paddock, with the ICE car as the initial focal point. However, as onlookers passed by and glanced at the SCR1, assuming it to be just another ordinary vehicle, the second they took a closer look, their steps were retracted. It was great seeing everyone's reactions!

OPTIMIZING CHILLER PLATE DESIGNS BY PARTNERING WITH PWR

Chiller plates used in the SCR1 all-electric race car made by PWR.

As an integral step in the prototyping process, Scalar Performance's development team has joined forces with PWR to enhance the design of the SCR1's chiller plates. The SCR1's current chiller plate design is a more traditional approach but the folks at PWR have new technologies and years of experience to bring to the table. Through extensive research and data analysis, the team is actively incorporating state of the art updates and modifications into the all-electric SCR1's cooling systems, steadily advancing towards the exciting day when it will be available for purchase!

COMPONENT TESTING WITH THE GR86 ICE CAR AT MOSPORT

On Friday, June 16, a gathering of friends, family, and passionate race car enthusiasts took place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for an exciting track day featuring the renowned GR86 ICE car, famously nicknamed Gas GRrrr. Serving as the reference vehicle for the SCR1, the GR86 ICE car plays a vital role in enabling the team to delve deeper into research and conduct comprehensive component testing during the ongoing development phase of the all-electric prototype race car.
